You always want to find ways to get different in NFL DFS, but often times playing the best plays – regardless of ownership – is simply the way to go. I suggested some stellar NFL cash game picks last week, notably hitting on Lamar Jackson, Christian McCaffrey, and Ja’Marr Chase.
Those guys were pricey, but if you built around that core, found some viable value, and made 1-2 good pivots, you were probably on your way to cashing. You can always look to some of our top GPP picks for something different, but the following plays are where I’d start in week three at DraftKings.

Quarterbacks
- Dak Prescott ($5,900)
With most of the big-name QBs on prime-time slates, I’m living in the midrange this week. Dak has looked sharp through two games and now gets a Bears defense that just let Jared Goff toss five touchdowns.
- Caleb Williams ($5,600)
Staying in the same game with a 50+ point total. Caleb hasn’t been perfect to start his rookie year, but he offers rushing upside and gets a Dallas defense that just made Russell Wilson look like vintage Russ.
- Drake Maye ($5,300)
Back to the well. Maye continues to provide a safe floor, and DK refuses to bump his price. Pittsburgh isn’t the defensive juggernaut they used to be.
- Carson Wentz ($4,000)
I know, I know… it’s Carson Wentz. But he’s the stone minimum at home against the Bengals, and the salary relief he provides is valuable.
Running Backs
- Christian McCaffrey ($8,200)
Death, taxes, and CMC getting fed. The price is climbing, but still not high enough for his workload. Lock him in.
- Bijan Robinson ($7,900)
Another bellcow with a strong floor and elite usage. The passing work keeps him cash-viable every week.
- Javonte Williams ($6,100)
I want exposure to this game. Javonte is priced well for his role and comes with a safe floor.
- Jordan Mason ($5,400)
The free square of the week. With Aaron Jones sidelined, Mason should see as many carries as he can handle.
Wide Receivers
- CeeDee Lamb ($8,000)
My top WR on the slate. The DAL/CHI game has shootout written all over it, and Lamb is a perfect stack with Dak.
- Jaxon Smith-Njigba ($6,500)
Averaging 11 targets per game, JSN gets a soft matchup with the Saints. Even if the volume dips a little, he’s still underpriced.
- Rome Odunze ($5,300)
Caleb’s clear favorite target. The usage is elite for this salary. Another strong way to get exposure to the DAL/CHI game.
- Keenan Allen ($4,700)
Herbert-to-Allen is back in full effect. With 17 targets through two games, Allen’s role is too good for this price.
Tight Ends
- Trey McBride ($5,700)
A repeat recommendation from last week. High floor with heavy involvement, just needs to find the end zone more often.
- Juwan Johnson ($3,900)
Nearly a must-play at this price. Johnson has 21 targets in two games and rarely leaves the field. Great matchup against a Seattle defense that struggles vs. TEs.
Defenses
- Packers ($3,700)
The most expensive option, but viable against the Browns. Not my favorite spend-up, but safe.
- Colts ($3,300)
A matchup play. Rookie Cam Ward has struggled, and Indy’s defense can capitalize.
- Patriots ($2,600)
Cheap with a solid floor. Vrabel-coached defenses usually overperform, and at home against Rodgers, they’re firmly in play.
