Cam Skattebo’s fantasy football 2026 outlook is not easy to assess. That’s partially because he’s operating out of a new system in 2026, and also because he’s coming off a devastating ankle injury. Add in the fact that he’s a certified psycho, and it’s even more difficult to gauge what to expect from him.
But I view Cam Skattebo as a stud for 2026. He has his red flags, but everything still sets up nicely for him, so much so that he’s an arguable value in redraft leagues, and a potential steal in dynasty formats.
There’s understandable concern surrounding his profile for 2026 and beyond. For at least this year, I think we can kick most of that to the side and just trust the menace we saw in 2025. Not sold? Let’s dive into Cam Skattebo’s fantasy value, current ADP, and come to a decision on what to do with him in 2026 fantasy football leagues.

Cam Skattebo Fantasy Outlook for 2026
Before we project Skattebo for 2026, let’s consider what he accomplished as a rookie in just eight games. In fact, let’s get even more granular and eliminate what he did in his NFL debut and his final game of his rookie season, as he played 21% or fewer of the snaps in both contests.
If we just look at weeks 2-7, Skattebo was a workhorse with elite PPR value and elite TD equity. In that stretch, he topped 10+ fantasy points and 13+ touches in every single game. Included in that run were two massive spike weeks, with his 31-point demolition of the Eagles being one of the best RB games of the year.
Skattebo’s run wasn’t able to stretch out over a full season due to a brutal ankle injury, but when he was New York’s main man in the backfield, he averaged 19.1 fantasy points per game. That was good for RB8 in that window, and if he maintained that average, he could have finished as RB6 in 2025.
Needless to say, Skattebo has already proven he has the ability to deliver top-10 production. Is he guaranteed to do that again in year two? No, but if he can come remotely close, consensus is going to be way too low on him (RB19 right now).

Why Cam Skattebo Could Beat His ADP
There are several reasons why drafting Cam Skattebo at his current ADP (round 4-5, depending on the league) makes sense. He does have red flags, but his rookie production and everything else setting up for his 2026 run make him a viable risk where he’s going.
Workhorse Volume
Very few running backs drafted outside the first three rounds project for this kind of workload. Volume remains king in fantasy football, and Skattebo has a realistic path to 275+ touches.
Let’s consider a few things:
- John Harbaugh teams love to run the football
- Matt Nagy might not be a bad thing for him
- His only competition is (arguably) a scat-back
Harbaugh is not an offensive coach, but he still has the final say and historically, he’s preferred a ball control offense that relies on his team effectively running the football. I don’t see why his stance would change, especially with Malik Nabers slow to recover from a torn ACL and second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart still developing.
There’s also a lot of negativity around the hiring of offensive coordinator Matt Nagy, which I don’t fully get. Patrick Mahomes as tied for QB2 overall under Nagy’s guidance last year, and we saw the Chicago Bears do quite well in his first year calling the shots in the Windy City back in 2018.
The man fooled people into thinking Mitch freaking Trubisky was good for a year, while he got the most out of Jordan Howard (250-953-9) during that season.
Lastly, Tyrone Tracy is a good, explosive running back. But he’s also a former wide receiver that isn’t the masher Skattebo can be. And last year when both were active at the same time, it was Skattebo who earned more field time (and more touches).
All of this points to Skattebo likely being the lead back and getting the bulk of the work.
Goal-Line Upside
Even if Skattebo does lose some work to Tracy, he should have a very safe built-in floor due to his goal-line prowess. One of his best strengths in college was finishing drives in the redzone (21 rushing touchdowns in 2024), and we saw that continue last year.
Skattebo not only hit paydirt five times as a runner (7 times total) in limited action, but the amount of chances his team gave him puts him in elite company.
That TD equity could always be negatively impacted by the presence of a dual threat passer like Jaxson Dart, but they shared the field together last year and it didn’t hurt Skattebo.
In general, there’s little reason to expect a decrease in scoring opportunities for Skattebo, and there’s also not much reason to anticipate him struggling to be effective in that role.
PPR Value
Lastly, we can hang our hat on Skattebo being utilized as a pass-catcher quite a bit. New York realized pretty quickly last year what they had in Skattebo, and it resulted in 32 targets and 24 catches in just eight appearances.
If you haven’t realized it by now, Skattebo isn’t just an early-down grinder. He has more than enough pass-catching ability to remain on the field in obvious passing situations, raising both his weekly floor and ceiling.
This at worst gives him insulation from a potential timeshare, and at best is more reason for the Giants to trust him as a true feature back.
Cam Skattebo ADP Value for 2026
Skattebo is one of my favorite running back values if he remains available in the fourth or fifth round. Cam Skattebo’s ADP is going to change between now and when most leagues draft in August, while it also can have a different range depending on your league size and settings.
I’m still not targeting him over guys like JT, Jeanty, or even Chase Brown or Kenneth Walker II. But Skattebo is available long after most of those guys are gone, anyways.
The point here isn’t that Skattebo is a super safe pick or that he’s guaranteed to hit in any regard. It’s that his current value is pretty insane considering what he could become this year.
In short, this is a guy you’re drafting to be a strong RB2, but carries legit RB1 upside.
Cam Skattebo Risk Factors for 2026
As noted, there are risks to drafting Cam Skattebo. This checklist definitely works against my optimism a bit, I’m not going to lie.
- Returning from an ankle injury
- Giants offense still has questions
- Physical running style invites contact
- Touchdown variance
I’m personally not that worried about touchdown variance or the new offense. I believe Harbaugh and Nagy will want to run the ball and that should equate to a versatile role for Skattebo, and one that features him near the goal-line.
The injury question and overall role are mild concerns, but this dude was doing flips at a charity softball game.
If you ask me, he looks pretty healthy! And with Tracy not really scaring me, I just don’t see much reason to run away from this guy right now – especially at cost.
Cam Skattebo Dynasty Outlook for 2026
My Cam Skattebo redraft outlook is pretty glowing, but what about Cam Skattebo’s dynasty value? I’m very much all-in on him for 2026, but I will admit that I’m not quite as convinced he’s an elite long-term asset.
His physicality, existing injury, and general uncertainty do cloud his dynasty appeal. We know that running backs tend to have short shelf lives in general, too.
Am I acquiring or holding Skattebo if I am rebuilding? No. I think his long-term value is too shaky, so even though I love him for this year, I’d be looking to build with other assets and get premium value for him now.
My tune changes in a hurry if I am contending, though. Skattebo’s dynasty value for this year specifically looks quite strong, to the point where I’d be comfortable investing a mid-to-late 2026 first-round pick, or a late-first-round-pick for 2027 to land him.
Ideally you can negotiate a softer price that bakes the risk and long-term instability into the trade, but you get the point.
Should You Draft Cam Skattebo in 2026 Fantasy Football?
Definitely. I am seeing a ton of negativity surrounding this Giants offense for 2026, but I’m not sure why any of the red flags would hurt Skattebo. If the Giants run a ton to hide Dart or they struggle through the air due to Nabers not being avalable, both scenerios help Skattebo a ton.
Whether the Giants just lean on him heavily as a rusher or dump it off to him as a receiver, he projects to be super involved. His workload, PPR value, and TD equity combine to make him a potential steal at his current average draft position.
I want all of the Cam Skattebo shares I can get right now. Just keep in mind where you stand in dynasty leagues. If you’re not a legit contender, now is a good time to sell high on his still existing upside.
