The WNBA has a solid four-game slate on the docket for Wednesday. We know some big names won’t be in action – namely Breanna Stewart and Angel Reese – and we should be able to exploit that.
There are several different ways to build on this slate, but I’d start most of my WNBA DFS lineups with the following core plays.
[pms-restrict]
WNBA Core: Wilson, Meesseman, and Mabrey
A’ja dropped 67 fps last game and has 46+ in 4 straight. She has by far the top proj of the slate and also happens to be in the best game environment. Smash play, even at her elevated price tag.
I am very high on Sabrina Ionescu with Stewart out, but I will admit she does not projection that much better than a bunch of ladies around her. The nice thing, though, is recency bias (she hasn’t been great) and her price seem likely to keep her ownership in check. I will personally be pairing her with Wilson.
That said, I think Meesseman and Mabrey are better ways to finalize this core. Meesseman’s price keeps ticking up, but it’s arguably not high enough yet. She continues to benefit immensely from Stewart being out, but the Liberty also don’t have Harrison or Sabally. She also happens to be the best P/$ play of the entire slate.
Mabrey is under $9k and is probably too cheap at this point. She was terrible last game due to her team getting smoked, but before that she had 30+ min in 5 straight games and 30+ fps in 3 of those games – including a huge 45 pt outing. She has the best projection on her team and looks like a really solid play at her price. The lone issue? She’ll likely be a bit owned.
Other studs: Cardoso, Jonquel Jones, Allisha Gray. All totally fine, but if I had to pick one it’s Jones (likely if not playing Sabrina). Carodoso projects well for her price, but she hasn’t exhibited much of a ceiling (no games over 40 fps since July 12 – even with Reese sidelined.
For extra value, Aaliyah Edwards is popping but feels awfully thin. I think I’d rather go up to Paopao with Canada out.
Also, keep an eye on the status of Shakira Austin (Q). If she’s in, we can safely avoid Washington players. If she’s out, Dolson becomes a core play and suddenly Citron and Kirafen are very strong “studs” we can look to.
The Aces vs. Liberty game is the top spot. All four of these games have tight spreads, but that game happens to have the highest total.
