WNBA DFS Picks – Top DraftKings Plays for 9/3

Yesterday was a solid night for our core. It wasn’t an epic smash, but Alyssa Thomas topped 40 fantasy points, while my favorite value of the slate got 34 fantasy points. I was able to cash with that core, so hopefully you were able to do the same.

Wednesday offers up another small two-game slate at DraftKings, so we’ll get right back to it. Here’s my favorite WNBA DFS picks to build around on 9/3:

Dearica Hamby, F, Sparks ($10.2k)

A few slates ago I loved Hamby and she bottomed out with 19 fantasy points. Every other game over her last four, however, she’s been on fire (41+ fps in those 3 contests). She continues to project extremely well, and going into Wednesday night she owns the third best projection.

The beauty is Hamby is $1k cheaper than the two ladies above her, and the gap isn’t very wide. She definitely has displayed a lower then preferred floor, but she has been otherwise smashing and isn’t even projected for top four ownership.

Hamby will be owned still – and rightfully so – but at this price, she’s someone I want a lot of exposure to.

Lindsay Allen, G, Sun ($3.6k)

I also don’t mind the likes of Cameron Brink or Rae Burrell, but Allen may have the clearest path to push for 25 minutes. We already know Bria Hartley won’t play tonight, while Olivia Nelson-Ododa is currently listed as questionable to play.

If she is also out, Allen could continue seeing the 22+ minutes she’s received the last two games. Her floor is admittedly pretty low, but diving down to her at this salary allows us to do anything we want and that’s still cheap exposure to some solid floor time.

Just don’t expect Allen to light it up, and make sure you keep tabs on the status of Nelson-Ododa. If she’s in, I’d rather get to Brink or pivot to Burrell if I am looking for ways to save.

Kamilla Cardoso, F, Sky ($9.8k)

Given the value we have in this WNBA DFS core, you can probably consider paying up for Angel Reese and/or Rhyne Howard, but for now I’ll settle on Cardoso.

Cardoso doesn’t have the consistent ceiling her teammate Reese does, but she has a rock solid role and has been super steady with 30+ fantasy points in 6 of her last 8 games. Even when she’s failed to hit the mark, she is hovering around 27 fantasy points.

A constant double-double threat, Cardoso is a little too cheap for this slate. She has a top 4 projection, but comes in as just the 7th most expensive play of the day.

FanDuel WNBA Core

  • Reese
  • Mabrey
  • Allen

The price differential up top is not as wild as on FD as it is on DK. Due to that, I’d just pay the extra $400 and go get Reese. Hamby is still a great play and I also like Howard, but Reese projects better and isn’t much more expensive.

Mabrey is a great value on FD. She’s right in the middle of a ton of players in the $5.5-$69k range and she projets better than the cheaper options and is comparable with the ones above her in salary.

Allen remains a terrific value on FD, too. Just keep an eye on the injury news for the Sun so we can feel good about rostering her.
