WNBA DraftKings Picks for Monday, 7/6 (Updated)

monday wnba dfs picks

The best WNBA DFS picks for Monday come down to finding the right balance between superstar upside and overlooked value. With a compact slate on DraftKings, every roster spot carries extra weight, making smart lineup construction and ownership leverage more important than ever. One or two key decisions could be the difference between a min-cash and climbing the top of GPP leaderboards.

Below, we’ll break down the top spend-up options, the best salary-saving plays, and the players with the highest ceilings based on matchup, recent form, and projected opportunity. Let’s build!

Updated WNBA DFS Core Plays for Monday

  • Natasha Howard ($11k)
  • Nneka Ogwumike ($10.7k)
  • Alicia Florez ($5.5k)

Update: Still love Kiki and she makes the cut in tonight’s WNBA player prop bets no matter what, but Howard now takes center stage with Olivia Miles being ruled out.

Our WNBA DFS projections have Iriafen sharing the top spot with teammate Shakira Austin. Their projections stem from star guard Sonia Citron being Questionable once again. If she’s out, they both get a huge boost and will be tough fades.

I don’t think we need to pair them together, and picking a side creates some necessary leverage. My pick is Kiki due to her superior offensive ceiling, but it’s admittedly a close call.

If you want to try our lineup tool to boost your game, give it a spin for free for 7 days. It combines projections and simulations and gets you thousands of lineups in seconds. It can also be used for other sports like MLB and MMA right now.

Ogwumike also should get a boost when our projections update. She’s in arguably the top game of the night, while she will see more work with star Sparks guard Kelsey Plum already ruled out for Monday’s tilt with Seattle.

Need value? Citron’s potential absence creates upside for the top Mystics studs, but it’d also open the door to heavy minutes for Alicia Florez. She’s smashed in a similar role in her last two outings, and she still isn’t cheap enough to ignore.

Top WNBA DFS GPP Picks for 7/6

  • Dearica Hamby ($10k)

Update: Howard is now a WNBA Core Play for tonight with Miles out. She should garner plenty of ownership.

Plum being out helps more than just Nneka, as Hamby is also slated to see an expanded role. That could make her an interesting target in tournaments, seeing as she currently has a top-four projection, but isn’t carrying heavy ownership just yet.

The same could be said for Howard, assuming Olivia Miles suits up. Miles is questionable to play due to a calf injury and could be looking at her first missed game of her career.

My guess would be she powers through, but if she misses this game, Howard would vault to the top of our WNBA DFS projections. If Miles does play, however, she herself could be popular, while Howard – the priciest play of the slate – would likely end up going overlooked.

WNBA DFS Value Plays for Monday

  • Erica Wheelers ($6.7k)
  • Tiffany Hayes ($4.5k)
  • Jordan Houston ($4.6k)
  • Maya Caldwell ($4.3k)

Wheeler gets a bump with Plum out. She’s not super cheap, but if you want to avoid crazy dumpster dives and get a decent player with an enhanced role, she’s a solid option.

Want to save even more cash? There are a few WNBA DFS values that do stand out. Hayes and Houston are thin plays, to be sure, but both could push for 20 minutes. Very low floor and ceiling here, but the play would be saving some cash to load up.

I don’t really prefer that strategy, so instead I’d look to just pick one of these values (at most) to build around. Deep dives aren’t going to be as necessary since we don’t have a ton of locked-in studs, either.

That said, if I am going and getting one WNBA DFS sleeper pick, it’s Caldwell. She needs Olivia Miles to sit tonight’s game out, but if she does she’d be looking at some extra minutes. Her role would feel a bit better than the other values, although it’d also have her ownership likely spiking.
