NBA DFS Picks Today: Core Plays (12/6)

It is Saturday. Hooray. 6 games on the board for DK and FD, so let’s get right into it.

DK Core Plays

  • Clint Capela
  • Jalen Johnson
  • Malik Monk
  • Dru Smith

These are kinda dicey, but it is what it is. Johnson is simply a monster, averaging 1.57 FP/minute and playing monster minutes without Trae and Porzingis. I thought there’d be a chance he sits tonight considering he’s been nursing a calf injury, but he’s not on the report. Johnson is an absolute smash tonight against the Wizards. He’s expensive, but worth it.

Monk has been playing a bigger role without Schroder, and he’s played all 12 minutes of the 4th quarter in consecutive games. Good per-minute guy historically, and the Kings get a nice pace-up spot here in Miami. $5,000 is cheap.

KPJ is the scariest one, IMO. You can argue he’s $2,000 too cheap for his role without Giannis, though, so it’s a bit like the Reaves play last night. The matchup at Detroit is brutal and I think the Bucks get destroyed here, so there’s certainly a case to fade this guy if he’s going to be 70% owned. He’ll project insanely well overall, I just think it’s a potential trap at the immense ownership.

FD Core Plays

  • Jalen Johnson
  • Kevin Porter Jr.
  • Malik Monk
  • Dru Smith

Johnson is Johnson. KPJ and Monk are pricier than they are on DK, but they’re still good. There’s a case to play Rollins over KPJ at similar salaries if the ownership skews heavily toward Porter, but it’s a bad spot overall for MIL. Kuminga is pretty cheap at $4,800 over here, but he’s playing on a minutes limit.
