NBA DFS Picks Today: Core Plays (1/27)

Hello! It is Tuesday, so I think I’m on core play duty. The sites are doing things differently this evening, as FanDuel decided to include the late-night UTA-LAC clash. Any time the Jazz are in our lives, we are, sadly, forced to care about it. Every other game is shared by both sites, so that makes it somewhat easy.

DK Core Plays

  • Ryan Rollins
  • Tre Johnson
  • Kyshawn George

The Bucks don’t have Giannis or KPJ, so lots of offense is going to run through Ryan Rollins. His usage is north of 32% with those two off the floor this season, which is Donovan Mitchell/Joel Embiid territory. Milwaukee is a 10.5-point underdog in this game in Philly, though the Sixers are on a B2B after getting destroyed by the Hornets – for some reason – yesterday. Not all that concerned about the blowout, though it’s obviously possible.

The Wiz get a nice home matchup with a Portland team also on a B2B. Kyshawn George is back to full minutes after dealing with an injury, and he offers quite a ceiling at a sub-$7,000 price point. There really aren’t that many high-upside plays at SG on this slate, so he’s finding his way into most of my lineups as of now. The same is true of Tre Johnson, who simply shouldn’t still be under $5,000 on DK. Johnson’s minutes have also really come up lately, and he’s earned it. He’ll be mega-chalk, I assume, but this is a mispricing.

FD Core Plays

  • Isaiah Collier
  • Kyshawn George
  • Ryan Rollins

I mentioned having the UTA game on the FD slate, and the Jazz won’t have Keyonte George here. They’ll probably get blown out, but Collier and Walter Clayton Jr. should spend most of the game running point. Collier’s already starting for this team, and he’s only $5,000. I don’t think it’s impossible that he sees a full allotment of minutes even if they get destroyed, though the Jazz have generally been a much more competitive team at home.

Chet Holmgren and SGA are also excellent ways to spend salary on FD with J-Dub and some other jamokes still sidelined.
