Monday’s WNBA DFS slate only has two games and lacks star power. To me, that signals a balanced build. Angel Reese stands out as the top stud in terms of raw projection, but a superior pivot may be the cheaper Dominique Malonga.

WNBA DFS Core Plays for Monday, 8/10
- Jordin Canada ($9.4k)
- Natasha Cloud ($8.2k)
- Malonga/Reese
I am going with a balanced build tonight, so I think you need to choose between Reese and Malonga. Reese is the safer play and she projects slightly better, but she’s also more expensive. Malonga’s ceiling, price, and possible ownership advantage make her my favorite spend. If rolling out numerous WNBA DFS lineups, though, I’d definitely get exposure to both ladies.
Canada is leverage on Reese, but she’s also just a rock-solid play. We know the Dream studs tend to get really good run, and she projects solidly for he price. I’m open to pivoting to Rhyne Howard or Allisha Gray depending on where ownership lands, but right now Canada looks like the best points per dollar option of the group.
Natasha Cloud is a similar play, but she’s way cheaper. She ranks third in terms of projection amongst her Chicago teammates, but she’s my favorite spend there when it comes to salary. Her minutes and upside are safer than Courtney Vandersloot, and her projection isn’t far off from Azura Stevens despite being $700 less.

WNBA Fantasy Picks for Tournaments (8/10)
- Azura Stevens ($8.9k)
- Marina Mabrey ($9.6k)
Stevens only played 20 minutes in her return to the court. My guess is she won’t be nearly as restricted this time out, but that uncertainty could keep her ownership down. I don’t mind being early to the party and playing her way over the field, as we know she’s too cheap for what she’s capable of.
I also am very high on Mabrey in tournaments. Toronto is dealing with a slew of injuries, which should boost Mabrey’s already strong usage. Her projection doesn’t align with her price at all, but the field may sour on her due to that. I don’t mind paying a premium for her services if everyone will be scared to do so.
Monday’s WNBA DFS Value Picks
- Jacy Sheldon ($5.3k)
- Jordan Houston ($3.7k)
It’s another day that ends in Y and the WNBA DFS value sucks. Who knew? I know it sounds like a broken record, but especially if the high-end options aren’t that appealing, this is another reason to go more balanced on a slate like this.
Sheldon is not a great per minute producer, but she has the most stable rotational role of the Sky values. I’m not enamored with her, but she projects for 20-24 minutes and at this price, that makes her a fine play. She’s more of a means to an end than a clear priority, though.
I may just roll the dice with the most logical punt on this slate. Who that ends up being will depend on an updated WNBA injury report, but right now Jordan Houston could be The One. She’s not even $4k despite potentially being in line for 15+ minutes. The floor and ceiling are low, but Sheldon is no less risky.
