Howdy howdy howdy. The NBA schedule is all wonked up this week because of the NBA Cup. We’re looking at just 3 games tonight with 2-game slates tomorrow and Wednesday. Fun! Maybe there’s a better hockey slate to play.
If you are enough of a sicko to be playing NBA – as I am – then there’s still money to be made. Let’s do that.
DK Core Plays
- Collin Gillespie
- Andrew Nembhard
- Dillon Brooks
The Suns are still down Devin Booker, which means elevated minutes for Collin Gillespie and a ton of usage for Dillon Brooks. While tonight’s matchup against the Wolves is a tough one, it’s still a better spot than they had in their first Booker-free game against the Rockets. With Booker off the floor, Brooks leads the Suns with a robust 40% usage rate – which is Luka territory – while Gillespie is averaging a stellar 1.15 FP/minute. Neither player is really priced up enough for the role without Booker.
Nembhard is also underpriced at $6,300, and he rates out as a similar play to Gillespie. There’s more competition for usage in Indiana with Siakam and Mathurin healthy, but the matchup with the Kings is fantastic, and the minutes are very secure. It’s a 3-game slate.
FD Core Plays
- Pascal Siakam
- De’Aaron Fox
- Collin Gillespie
The Spurs are getting healthier with Stephon Castle back tonight, but the usage should still flow through De’Aaron Fox with Wembanyama still absent. Fox is only $8,300 on FD, and San Antonio gets arguably the cushiest matchup of the slate against a New Orleans team that can’t protect the rim whatsoever.
Speaking of not protecting the rim, the Kings aren’t doing it either. Siakam is only $8,700 over here with a minutes ceiling of around 40. It’s hard to see a way around him here, even at what should be extreme ownership.
