NBA DFS Picks – Core Plays for Wednesday (12/3)

Nikola Jokic

The NBA Core stayed hot yesterday. The only problem? A lot of guys went off. Having Tyrese Maxey and Jaylen Brown was certainly a great way to start, but with a bunch of other players having big nights, it wasn’t a guarantee for success.

All we can do is set things up right with a good core and hope the chips fall in our favor. Wednesday offers up a hefty 9-game slate, so there is certainly plenty of opportunity once again. Let’s see how we should be starting off most of our NBA DFS lineups at DraftKings and FanDuel.

DraftKings NBA Core

  • Ryan Nembhard ($4.4k)
  • Ayo Dosunmu ($5.8k)
  • Nic Claxton ($6.4k)
  • Onyeka ($7.5k)

Update 2: Onyeka looks awesome with Jalen Johnson out. 2-3 Hawks are viable now. Mo Gueye, Vit, Risacher, are all in play, while NAW and Daniels get solid boosts.

Update: Deni and other Blazers are Q, so Camara is going to pop if they are out. He’s not a core play if Deni is in, but he’d still be a good play. Brow exits the core so you can spend your salary how you wish. Clax takes his place. Much like Davis, there is an argument for fading chalk like Claxton and Nembhard (or even Ayo), but these guys all happens to be good plays.

This is a big slate and Jokic exists. He’s probably too expensive given the current state of the value, so I’d start with Anthony Davis, who is the only guy under $9k that also projects for 50 fantasy points.

Deni is probably my second favorite stud, but there’s a lot to like.

Ayo is someone I wouldn’t mind upgrading over eventually, but he looks like a solid value. He is G/F eligible – which helps with roster construction – and both Coby White and Kevin Huerter are out.

Nembhard looks like a terrific value. He’s been starting lately and saw 35 minutes in his last game, where he absolutely smashed.

Dallas seems intent on seeing what they have in him, so as long as he starts again, he looks like chalk I don’t want to fade.

It’s a 9-gamer, so surely there will be news coming. The big one for right now is Jamal Murray, as he is Q. If he’s out, Bruce Brown would become a solid value and may enter the core, provided he starts. It would also naturally give Jokic and other Nuggets a boost.

FanDuel NBA Core

  • Ryan Nembard ($4.6k)
  • Ayo Dosunmu ($5.5k)
  • Onyeka Okongwu ($7.3k)
  • Camara

Update: I’d get to some Blazers if Deni sits. If Deni plays I like Deni a good deal and wouldn’t force Camara or Jerami.

Anthony Davis is not on my radar on FD, where he’s over $10k. Rare slate where FD does not have more games than DK, so we’re just adapting to pricing and the extra slot.

I don’t think Jokic is a must here, but I will say it’s a smash spot.

Nembhard and Ayo both look just as good on FD, so I’ll stick with them. I’ll add Onyeka, who is fine on DK but looks a little more useful on FanDuel thanks to being PF eligible. Porzingis remains out, so he has a clear path to solid production and projects well.

I also really like Deni, MPJ, Sengun, and Franz Wagner tonight. That collection of guys – not to mention Giannis, Cade, etc – is likely enough to keep me off of Jokic on both sites.
