Week 4 MNF DFS Picks – Top Plays at DraftKings

Ja'Marr Chase

You are allowed to play the Showdown slates on Monday Night Football, but anytime there are two games, I will take a break from the single-game chaos.

In week four we get another Monday Night Football double-header, and it could actually be a good one given the fact that three of the four defenses have been fairly suspect (or downright bad) through the first three weeks.

There is a lot to like on this slate, but I’ll give you my top MNF DFS picks to use at DraftKings.

Justin Fields, QB, Jets ($5.5k)

Fields is the third cheapest QB on the slate but has the second best projection. I would ignore his lousy week two outing and focus on the 29 fantasy points he dropped in week one.

Miami is not a tough defense and has specifically had issue stopping mobile QBs (most rushing scores allowed). Provided he doesn’t get concussed again, he is a smash play and an excellent pivot off of the much chalkier Bo Nix.

De’Von Achane, RB, Dolphins ($7k)

Monster chalk, but he’s not expensive enough. The Jets aren’t a scary matchup these days and he has been quite steady with 16+ fantasy points in every game.

He doesn’t need a big sales pitch, but he’s also a core play so I have to say it: I’m not fading him.

BTW, Chase Brown is also garnering a ton of ownership. I actually think he’s an OK play, but if he’s going to be chalk I don’t mind doing something else at RB2. Between the two, Achane is the easy call.

Ja’Marr Chase, WR, Bengals ($8k)

Same with Chase. I don’t feel smart saying this, but it needs to be said; fading Chase even at high ownership and an $8k price tag in a tough spot still doesn’t feel good.

Chase was bad last week, but volume and game script point to him being a borderline must on a tiny 2-game slate. We can get different in other ways besides fading the best play of the entire slate.

Mason Taylor, TE, Jets ($2.7k)

Tight end is brutal. You’re looking at split ownership and salary savers across the board – all of which are not reliable in the least.

Taylor will be owned, but not egregiously so. He has yet to do anything, but he has seen 70%+ of the snaps for the Jets in all three of their games. So, there’s that.

The big thing is we know he’s good, we know he’ll play a lot, and he’s only $2.7k. I am definitely open to playing a lot of different tight ends on this slate, but he’s my favorite of the lot.

Week 4 MNF GPP Picks

  • Tua Tagovailoa ($5.5k)
  • RJ Harvey ($4.8k)
  • Pat Bryant ($3k)

Tua doesn’t offer the rushing floor guys like Fields or Nix do, but Aaron Rodgers tossed four touchdowns against this Jets defense back in week one. At no ownership, Tua is not the worst GPP play at QB.

Harvey is a solid and cheap leverage play against a chalky JK Dobbins. I still will have plenty of Dobbins, but the Broncos are likely going to be leading at home. I can see Harvey busting off chunk gains and vulturing a TD here.

Bryant is also appealing for a low-owned punt. He is the stone cold minimum and Marvin Mims Jr. is questionable for this game. I have little interest in Bryant if Mims plays, but he’s in for a snap increase if Mims is out.

Either way, Troy Franklin ($4.1k) and Malik Washington are two other cheap WRs that stand out.
