My NFL DFS GPP picks were turds all around last week. Hey, Kyren Williams scored. So, there’s that! Sometimes it doesn’t pay to get different in NFL DFS, boys and girls. Although, I’m not sure I recall a worse slate than what we were all forced to endure last week.
There is some obvious chalk on this slate, and surely Aaron will touch on some of the best plays in his week 14 NFL DFS cash game picks article. I’ll point you to some pivots or low-owned options I’m (kind of) excited to try in big tournaments at DraftKings.
I’ve only been giving you one play per position lately, but in the name of having more options, I’m bumping it to two. Hooray!
Best NFL DFS QB Pivots
- Lamar Jackson – Ravens ($6.9k)
- Jacoby Brissett – Cardinals ($5.7k)
Lamar Jackson isn’t really Lamar Jackson if he isn’t running all over defenses, am I right? Obviously the dude hasn’t been the same since getting hurt, but let’s consider a few things: he’s kind of cheap, the Steelers are bad defensively, this is a huge game, and he had extra rest since he played on Thursday last week.
Is that enough things to consider? Great!
I don’t know if the ownership will stick, but if it does, Jackson might be half as owned as Josh Allen and less owned than a handful of other QBs. The matchup is honestly pretty good, he has the second best projection of the slate, and he has an elite ceiling. LFG!
There’s also the Ghost of Jacoby Brissett. I don’t know why we need to be negative here, seeing as he’s still pretty cheap for a guy that has TOPPED 20 FANTASY POINTS IN EVERY GAME HE’S STARTED.
Yes, the Rams are a brutal matchup. But now we’re all off of him because the matchup isn’t soft? Whether out of necessity or Brissett just kinda being good, he can still get us there. And nobody will be playing him!
Running Back Pivots
- Chase Brown – Bengals ($6.7k)
- Bucky Irving – Buccaneers ($7k)
JT is also a bit interesting, as the Colts have a huge AFC South battle with the Jaguars and his price has come down. He isn’t unowned, but he also isn’t mega chalk. I will likely look to exploit that tom foolery.
Brown and Bucky stand out due to price and role. They also both have awesome matchups. Why the fuck aren’t they more owned?!
GPP WR Plays
- JSN ($9k)
- John Metchie III – Jets ($4.5k)
JSN had one bad game and we’re all ready to drop him like a sock that got a hole in it. I don’t know about you, but I don’t toss my socks that quickly, and I won’t be forgetting the machine JSN was before that turd burger he served us last week.
Let’s pay for the bounce-back at now ownership, please and thank you.
Adonai Mitchell was a great call by me last week. *Pats self on back*
This week he’s chalk. That’s a fade for me. Let’s turn back to Metchie The Third, instead. He was a bum last week, but crushed in the two games prior. The role is there for both guys, but I’ll take my chances with the one who is lesser owned.
Tight End Pivots
- Trey McBride – Cardinals ($8k)
- Kyle Pitts – Falcons ($4.2k)
McBride is expensive and the matchup with the Rams is bad, but the Cardinals can still crush it in garbage time. His price+matchup don’t make him a must at all, but we know the role and ceiling are amaze balls.
If nobody wants to play McBride, that’s exactly when I want to play him the most.
Of course, you can just save your monies and play Pitts. Normally that would be…the pits…(*ducks)…but with ol’ Captain Kirk under center he’s actually come to life (15 fantasy points last week). The Falcons will also probably be playing from behind against Seattle, while the Seahawks are the fourth worst defense against TEs on the year.
Pitts is the exact type of player who can fail to deliver in a smash spot, but matchup and game flow should work in his favor. Plus, he’s cheap, so IDGAF.
Defense Pivots
- Broncos ($3.9k)
- Jets ($2.3k)
The Cleveland Browns are chalky at $200 cheaper than Denver. So, we’re cool with paying a premium for the Browns, but we want nothing to do with a safer Broncos defense against the Raiders? Got it.
New York is a punt. I like punts. They also face Miami, who seemingly never knows if they want to be competent or not in a given week. Let’s see if they want to be bad in week 14 and reap the benefits, if so.
