NBA DFS Picks Today: Core Plays (1/24)

Luka Doncic yelling at Champ

Just 4 games on the board tonight, but a few spots stand out. We’ve got Cleveland and Boston on back-to-backs after both played hard-fought games yesterday. The Celts went to 2-OT against the Nets, yet they’re not expected to rest anyone. We’ve got another Luka Doncic #RevengeGame in Dallas, while the nightcap – MIA at UTA – has the highest total on the board thanks to the matchup between the league’s 2 fastest-paced teams.

My availability is limited tonight, so I’m not sure I’ll be around at lock. Talk amongst yaselves in Discord if you have any questions or takes about the slate.

Onward!

DK Core Plays

  • Bam Adebayo
  • Luka Doncic
  • Simone Fontecchio
  • Jaime Jaquez Jr.

FD Core Plays

  • Bam Adebayo
  • Norman Powell
  • Luka Doncic
  • Kasparas Jakucionis

Davion is out for the Heat again tonight, as are Tyler Herro and Kel’el Ware. Tons of usage available for Bam Adebayo and Norman Powell, while we’ll see a start at PG for either Jakucionis or Dru Smith. I think both cheap PGs are viable, though I’d still favor whoever starts, and I wouldn’t play them in the same lineup. Smith is the better value on DK and still viable off the bench, while I prefer Jak on FD.

Bam is too cheap for a matchup against the NBA’s worst defense. Generally doesn’t offer a huge ceiling, but this is also a very poor slate for Cs. No Ware, so the minutes should be strong. Powell is a great play on both sites now that he’s confirmed in, but more necessary on FD with the positional stuff. I like the value on Jaquez on DK, in particular, while Fontecchio is cheap for a #RevengeGame of his own.

There’s enough value to pay all the way up for Luka, so I’m probably Just Doing That.
