Welcome to Wednesday’s 2-game WNBA DFS slate. We don’t have much to work with after an awesome four-game slate last night, but it was nice to be on the right side of the Clark vs. A’ja debate. The core was rounded out by Kiki Rice and Breanna Stewart, who were staples of winning WNBA DraftKings lineups. Hopefully you found a way to cash.
Tonight we get just two games, and they couldn’t be more different. Golden State may look to turn their showdown with the mighty Lynx into a slugfest, while Washington and Toronto could make for a fun DFS environment. Not sure who to play? I’ll go over my favorite WNBA DFS picks, and touch on some GPP pivots and values. Let’s build!
WNBA DFS Core Plays for Wednesday
- Isabelle Harrison ($6.6k)
- Kiki Rice ($6.8k)
- Shakira Austin ($10.7k)
- Napheesa Collier ($11k)
You get my top four WNBA DraftKings picks today. Toronto is going to be a team we want a lot of. Maria Conde is still out, and Marina Mabrey is listed as Doubtful. That is a ton of usage to go around. Harrison and Rice are suddenly way too cheap, and we absolutely should also look at Aneesah Morrow and Julie Allemand, too. I’d just start with the cheaper options first.
Austin is a smash play. She has the top projection of the slate, and nobody on Toronto is going to be able to stop her. I see a clear path to a double-double and there’s a good chance she absolutely nukes. Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen are also viable, but I want Austin first. That game in general feels very stackable if the Tempo can find a way to keep it close.
Collier is the second stud to target. Golden State’s top players always lack the upside we crave, while they are not a very friendly matchup in general. Olivia Miles is in play, but she’s more of a tourney spend as a pivot off of Collier. Collier projects better and offers a more fantasy-friendly game. I like her floor and ceiling more by comparison and I don’t really want to go out of my way to pair them.
Simulations can improve DFS lineups and our tool is definitely one you’ll want to give a try. Don’t take our word for it, though. See what one of our happy users has to say about it before giving it a spin (just $7 for the first week).
WNBA Fantasy Picks for GPPs (8/19)
- Kiki Iriafen ($9.6k)
- Olivia Miles ($11.2k)
- Gabby Williams ($8k)
Kiki is a fine leverage play against the chalky Austin. This isn’t a move I feel compelled to make on a 2-game slate, but it’s a calculated one if you think Austin may under-perform. Citron gives us similar leverage and she’s admittedly safer, but for a bit less exposure, Kiki is the GPP target.
Miles is easily the top WNBA DFS tournament pick. Collier and Austin are the two best spends, and Miles has a poor matchup in front of her. My guess is she could struggle here, but the rookie has been fairly unflappable for most of the year. If she wrecks, she could be insane leverage against Collier.
I’m not excited to play any Valkyries players, but Williams is going to be like 15% owned and isn’t very pricey. We should get 30 minutes out of her in a tight game, albeit one that may not be very rewarding from a DFS perspective. She is easy to get to and won’t be owned. On a 2-game slate that isn’t nothing.
Wednesday’s WNBA DFS Value Picks
- Temi Fagbenle ($3.7k)
- Kia Nurse ($3.9k)
- Georgia Amoore ($4.5k)
Toronto’s injury issues could lead to some dumpster diving. Temi and Nurse are going to get some burn due to the situation, but they’re still risky plays. I’m only excited to play them if you feel compelled to stack studs (or if one of them starts). The value is obvious, but if I am just pairing Collier and Austin, I don’t know if we HAVE to do this to ourselves.
Amoore is a decent value that costs a bit more but is probably safer, depending on final lineups. She should get 20-25 minutes and her floor is likely better than most of the other values you’ll end up considering.
I hate most of the value in the Minnesota game. Golden State runs a deep rotation and nobody on the Lynx that’s cheap is worth our time.
