The Philip Rivers experiment bleeds into another week. It was cool to see the 44-year old back out there (kind of), but reality sunk in pretty quickly. He looks out of shape and pretty lost, so I’m not loving his chances to keep it together under the bright lights of Monday Night Football.
The upside of Rivers rallying the troops and magically playing well to save Indy’s season is a fun narrative I’ll be rooting for. Sadly, it’s not a realistic one. Chalky or not, stacking the 49ers side of this makes a painful amount of sense.
